Position Summary
Toppan is looking for a highly motivated and detail-focused Quality Technician I to support our Alloyd division in Batavia, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our packaging products meet internal and customer quality standards. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the flexibility to work outside normal hours for quality support when needed.
Daily Responsibilities Include
- Complete all customer COAs, including all required offline testing
- Lead daily quality audits throughout the production process
- Conduct assigned Layered Process Audits (LPAs) as directed by the Management Team
- Review and approve AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) samples for product release
- Approve Customer LSDs (Lot Shipment Documents)
- Lead internal sorting initiatives as needed
- Collect and analyze reject data and trends for continuous improvement
- Support customer complaint investigations and assist with root cause corrective actions
- Train plant personnel on the quality system and procedures
- Actively participate as a member of the Quality Pillar Team
- Actively participate as a member of the Safety Team
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Must be flexible to work off-shifts or varied hours to support quality-related needs
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Basic knowledge of arithmetic and statistics for quality data analysis
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing setting, including around machinery and noise
- Participation in safety and continuous improvement programs is expected
