Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. Duties
- Provide caregiving support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor patients’ health and behavior, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Assist clients in meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals according to dietary needs.
- Engage clients in recreational activities and social interactions to promote inclusion and community participation.
- Maintain accurate records of patient observations and care provided, adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Lift and transfer clients as needed while ensuring proper techniques are used for safety.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other professionals to implement individualized care plans.
- Support clients in developing life skills that foster independence.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and patient observation practices is beneficial.
- Experience in a group home setting or similar environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is essential to maintain client confidentiality.
- A background in nursing or related health fields can enhance your application.
