A TYPICAL DAY WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING . . .

• Manages all front end operations
• Oversees market in the absence of higher authority
• Provides excellent customer service and leads by example
• Maintains department in a neat, clean and orderly manner
• Hires, trains and conducts department introductions for new front end employees
• Performs annual ICs with front end employees
• Plans and facilitates regular PIC and department meetings
• Manages PICs, Checkers, Courtesy Clerks and Loss Prevention Officers
• Projects net front end labor needs and writes schedules according to those needs
• Oversees the cash handling and accountability of all Checkers in the front end and provides them with ongoing feedback
• Maintains a simple historical record of factors that affect daily sales and utilizes this information to project future needs
• Establishes operational procedures of PIC’s to ensure consistent, fair management of personnel situations
• Keeps up on industry trends, standards and changes
• Ensures the dissemination & adherence to all company and department policies
• Supports and follows sustainability programs and all safety and security policies
• Role models attitude of service to staff and customers
• Operates within the Company’s Core Values and Company Brand

THIS JOB MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF . . .

• Prefer management experience and minimum 2 years in the grocery industry
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must possess an attitude of service to others and excellent work ethic
• Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
• Must be a team player, leader and a positive role model
• Ability to solve problems and resolve conflict
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrates self-discipline and accountability
• Must have intermediate or higher computer skills including MS Office
• Must be accurate and detail-oriented
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and trust with a diverse group of staff, customers and vendors
• Commitment to personal and professional development
• Ability to take direction and carry out department tasks and assignments
• Strong organization skills and the ability to delegate & empower
• Ability to have full body mobility (bending, stooping, twisting & reaching)
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Exemplifies health department standards
• Requires frequent repetitive motion ability from the hand through the shoulder area
