The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service-oriented individual for the position of Nordic Instructor - Winter Seasonal. This position is responsible for assisting in the creation & implementation of various programs and services to guests of the Recreation Department. Primary responsibilities include conducting safe and effective Nordic ski programming and performing basic administrative duties including cash handling, customer service, and equipment management/rentals. Implementation of programs and services involves setting up and preparing assigned facility space and equipment, performing light maintenance duties, and ensuring safety, and collecting evaluations and patron feedback.
Individuals in this position are responsible for greeting Nordic center guests, providing information about recreation department programs and services, assisting customers with rental equipment, and assisting with special events and programming. This position is also involved with the hands-on, day-to-day operations at Gold Run Nordic Center, including guest service, facility and equipment operations and maintenance, delivery of programs and services, safety, and risk management. This position instructs Nordic and cross-country skiers of varying abilities in a variety of programs, clinics, activities, and workshops. The ideal candidate should have a strong Nordic background including teaching experience, equipment and pro shop rentals and sales, and overall knowledge of a Nordic facility.

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have High School diploma or GED.
- Must possess/demonstrate ability to cross country ski.
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience required.
- One (1) or more years of cash handling experience required.
- To qualify for this position, the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check.
- Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire.
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- Valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain within five (5) days of hire.
- One (1) or more years of Nordic skiing instructional experience desired.
- One (1) or more years of experience instructing youth and/or adults (beginners to advanced) preferred.
- PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) Level 1, 2 or 3 certification is preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Primary shifts for this position generally include six to nine (6-9) hour shifts daily between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; shifts may occasionally extend as late as 8:00 p.m. depending on the program being offered. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability; and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be available to work through the winter seasonal period established by the Recreation Department, which generally extends through the beginning of April. All interested applicants must be available to work through this date, although all work schedules, hours and dates of work are at the discretion of the Town and may be altered at any time.

Salary : $21 - $23
