Under general supervision, is responsible for performing skilled mechanical repair work on a diversified fleet of trucks, automobiles, and light/heavy equipment, up-fitting emergency equipment; and performs related duties as required. This position may be deemed essential personnel for inclement weather or operational emergencies.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)- Class B with Air Brakes endorsement within six (6) months of employment.
- Ability to obtain at least two (2) ASE certifications in either Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck category, with at least one certification in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Brakes, within one (1) year of employment.
- Ability to obtain Forklift Certification within one (1) year of employment.
- Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License- Class A.
- Master ASE certified in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck.
- Virginia State Vehicle Inspector License
- Install/Up-fit and assembly experience.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish.
