The Preschool Teacher is a part-time extra-help position in the Recreation Division. Under the guidance of the Lead Preschool Teachers, the Preschool Teacher assists in the planning and implementation of the daily curriculum activities for the children (ages 2.5 – 5 years) while creating a safe and attractive classroom environment that supports a quality preschool program for optimal growth for child development. Other tasks include following the daily schedule, using positive discipline techniques, and assisting with setting up and cleaning up. Applicants must have the ability to build relationships with families and co-workers and to create a dynamic environment where play and learning happen. This position will also require staffing at Town events, such as; holiday events, summer events, and summer preschool camp.
A high school diploma is required; coursework in Early Childhood Education is strongly desired along with two years of experience working with young children. Spanish speaking is desirable, but not required.
