Ocean Rescue Lifeguard Applications
The Town of Wrightsville Beach is taking applications for Ocean Rescue Lifeguards for the 2024 season. The starting pay is $16.50 per hour with additional compensation for having your NC EMT certification.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Valid driver’s license
• Ability to swim 500 meters in 10 minutes, or less.
• Ability to run 1 mile in 8 minutes or less
• At least 18 years of age or older.
• Try out dates and times are:
April 28, 2024 (Sunday)
May 04, 2024 (Saturday)
Meeting location and time: South side of Crystal Pier located on the south end of Wrightsville
Beach 08:30 am.
The pre-test will consist of the following skills:
-½ mile ocean swim, followed by a one-mile soft sand run, then two rescues. One will be an active
victim the other a passive victim.
Applicants will work approximately 46 hours per week with a start date of May 10, 2023.
Mandatory drug test and physical is required prior to the start date.
