TNA is looking for a Industrial Pipefitter. This person will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and development of all plumbing systems in the facility. Demonstrate the capability to work on steam, water, compressed air, and other fluid delivery systems. Able to maintain and install pumps, traps, valves, flowmeters, strain reliefs, and other piping components. Follow the best practices regarding piping installations set by ASME codes and industry standards. Maintain a high degree of pride not only in how the completed work functions, but how it looks. Individuals must be capable of reading mechanical drawings as well as P&IDs. Must understand when to use which materials in the application (CPVC, Steel, Stainless, etc.)
Qualifications:
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
- Reliably and consistently use CMMS for work order tracking and completion
- Follow LOTO Procedures
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and develop potential solutions
- Perform pipe welding on a variety of piping systems: carbon steel and stainless-steel piping, Schedule 10 through Schedule 80 pipe, line sizes vary from 1” through 24”, Weld types include butt weld and socket weld pipe systems
- Install hangers and pipe supports
- Test work after completion
- Cleanup work area, leaving it better than how it was found
- Estimate duration of tasks to provide lead time to complete
- Communicate well with peers, management, and customers
- Punctual both in attendance and completion of assignments
- Fill in for boiler technicians as needed
- Create or fill out reports as needed based on assignments (including e-mail communication, excel spreadsheets, and word documents)
- Other responsibilities as requested by Lead or Management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Minimum of three years of industrial plumbing, heavy commercial pipe, and/or steam fitting experience
- Drawing/Diagram reading and interpreting (Mechanical and P&IDs)
- Basic math (algebra and geometry)
- Hoisting and Rigging Certification
- Certified Powered Lift Truck Driver
- Master plumbing license would be a plus, but not required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Mig, Tig, and Stick welding techniques.
- Must be self-motivated and willing to work individually or as a team member
- Must have a positive attitude and work well with others in the organization
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Will need to contort body at non-standard positions as needed for the job.
Must be able to climb up and down steps multiple times per day.
Must be able to pick up 50 to 75 lbs frequently throughout the day.
The team members will be engaged in non-repetitive work from day-to-day. Attention will be required to meet new problems under varying conditions. Concentration can play a major role during normal activity; requires intermittent performance of manual labor involving the handling of parts and equipment in all weight/force classifications
WORKING CONDITIONS
The representative working characteristics of a team member working and performing the functions of this job include working in hot and cold environments. Working to close tolerances and limits on expensive equipment and systems; confined spaces and an environment that could contain dirt, oil, grease, etc. Occasional work in environments with poor lighting and/or ventilation will also be encountered. Most environments shall require proper hearing protection or other PPE to be worn.
