Job Summary
The Account Manager performs the critical role of ensuring that our sourced cannabis products are sold to retail partners. This role supports sales through customer service, order processing, industry and product knowledge, proactive lead generation, sales team collaboration, and event support. The Account Manager is expected to be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all cannabis products, including flowers, extracts, infused products, topicals, and edibles. This is a highly independent role requiring initiative, effective self-management, and strong time management. All Account Managers must represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Build rapport through regular onsite visits with customers, providing personalized product recommendations for retailers
- Leverage a variety of online and offline resources to identify prospective customers
- Continually foster and develop relationships with cultivation and extraction/manufacturing partners
- Analyze customers’ purchase histories to identify opportunities for product sales and training
- Brainstorm, create, and execute lead-generation and sales campaigns in coordination with other Sales Team members
- Regularly create, improve, or share tools that support the Sales Team, such as sales strategies, marketing tips, and best practices
- Conduct outbound sales by contacting potential and existing customers, mainly by phone
- Conduct inbound sales by providing outstanding customer service to existing accounts
- Answer incoming calls promptly, professionally, and courteously
- Process phone orders and identify natural upsell opportunities
- Help troubleshoot web orders, late deliveries, and order-processing challenges
- Ensure customers receive purchase-related information, such as estimated delivery schedules and return policies
- Be knowledgeable about the product catalog, prices, and availability
- Relay product-related customer feedback to the management team
- Ensure that all orders are processed in compliance with METRC guidelines
- Pursue continuing education about market conditions, customer trends, regulations, and industry developments through sales- or trade-related events, vendor meetings, conferences, and publications
- Stay current with trending products, brands, vendors, and competitors
- Have direct experience with or a foundational understanding of cannabis cultivation, extraction, and manufacturing, and speak confidently to retailers about their product provider's methods
- Adapt to and stay on top of the latest cannabis consumption methods and product trends
- Maintain an ongoing understanding of new products and engage new product providers
- Staff company installations at events and assist with physical tasks such as setting up and taking down the booth
- Manage all aspects of event-related planning, including travel, samples, inventory, promotions, documentation, and occasional orders
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant sales or industry experience preferred
- Previous experience in sales or account management, preferably in the cannabis industry
- Must be at least 21 years old and pass a criminal background check
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency with G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive)
- Ability to manage emails, convert documents to PDF format, and troubleshoot document resolution issues
- Familiarity with network printing, scanning, and troubleshooting software issues
- Must be smartphone proficient and have a clear understanding of internet research standards and protocols
- Highly proficient in CRM technology and able to manage sales through software
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage a challenging workload

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work may require prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
