A law firm seeks an experienced trusts and estates attorney to join its team. This position provides sophisticated estate planning, tax strategy, and trust administration services for high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries.

Duties

Advise high-net-worth clients on estate planning strategies, including tax-efficient wealth transfer, lifetime giving, and charitable giving plans.
Handle the administration of estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Guide succession planning for closely held businesses and estate planning for retirement assets.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including corporate, real estate, and litigation professionals, to meet client objectives.
Develop creative and personalized solutions for complex trust and estate matters.
Maintain high levels of client service, fostering trust and long-term relationships.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of experience in sophisticated trusts and estates law, including tax and succession planning.

Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state tax laws affecting trusts and estates.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Effective problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing client needs.

Active bar membership in New York State in good standing.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Membership in the New York State Bar.

Expertise in drafting trust agreements, wills, and related estate planning documents.

Proficiency in advising clients on tax implications and compliance requirements.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.

Client-focused approach with exceptional interpersonal skills.
