In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Design various building and site low voltage systems, including:
- Telecommunications (fiber optic and category cable systems)
- Electronic Security Systems (Intrusion Alarm, Access Control, CCTV)
- Audio-Visual Systems (both simple and complex)
- Intercom, Public Address, DAS and others
- Create plans and 3-D models for integration into an overall team design.
- Coordinate, layout and specify each system type.
- Provide design documents in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
- Attend meetings with the project team, including architects and other disciplines.
- Ensure design complies with codes, standards, and regulations.
- Prepare documentation for permit applications and agency review.
- Perform site visits during design and construction.
What you bring to our firm:
- Experience in the design and/or installation of low voltage systems
- Detailed knowledge of at least one of the low voltage systems noted above
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Excellent attention to detail
- Authorization to work in the United States (required)
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
- Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or
- 2 years of direct experience designing low voltage systems (shop drawings), or
- 4 years of system installation experience
- Experience with Revit MEP, AutoCad, Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
