Role: Chemical Packaging Technician II
Location: St. Louis, MO 63118 (Onsite)
Type: Contract - W2
Pay rate: $20/hr - $22/hr on W2
Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
Job Summary
The Chemical Packaging Technician II is responsible for staging, filling, capping, labeling, and over-packing liquid, powder, and lyophilized chemical products according to approved packaging specifications. This role requires strict adherence to safety, quality, and ISO procedures while working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Stage materials and prepare packaging components
- Manually or semi-automatically fill chemical products
- Cap, label, and over-pack products per approved specifications
- Complete all required packaging and quality documentation
- Follow all safety, quality, and ISO procedures
- Deliver finished products to inventory
- Support quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives
- Train others and work effectively in a team environment
Required Qualifications
- 5–6 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or packaging environment
- Hands-on experience with mixing, labeling, and handling chemicals
- Strong understanding of basic math
- Basic data entry and computer skills
- Ability and willingness to learn new processes
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)
- Experience with SAP systems
- Prior exposure to ISO, pharmaceutical, or biotech environments
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (with lifting equipment)
- Ability to see both close and long distances
- Required to wear full PPE, including:
- Air helmet / respirator
- Mask
- Safety shoes
- Rubber apron
- Tyvek suit
- Protective gloves
- Safety glasses/goggles
- Must be clean-shaven daily to ensure proper respirator fit
- Physical exam and respirator fit test required
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
