Pay Rate: $28 – $31/hr on W2

Hours: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday (Training starts M-F)

Contract Period: 01/22/2026 – 01/21/2027

Role Overview

EMD Electronics (Versum) is seeking a Gas and Chemical Megasys Technician to support the technical operation of chemical and gas equipment at our Fremont, CA facility. The ideal candidate will have experience handling chemicals and/or gases in a manufacturing environment and a strong focus on safety and quality compliance. This is a hands-on role supporting over 500 pieces of distribution equipment of various types and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cylinder and drum changes on all chemical and gas systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for all gas and chemical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with operational and maintenance procedures and safety standards.
• Support installation, decommissioning, and repair of gas systems, precursor delivery systems, and bulk chemical distribution systems.
• Drive a ZERO safety or quality incident culture.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and participate in quality management programs.
• Participate in onboarding, training, and technical qualification programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 years of experience as a maintenance or equipment technician.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment.
• Navy Nuclear Power School or Military mechanic training.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Exposure to chemicals requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Respirator use required (fit testing provided during orientation).
• Heavy lifting over 20 lbs.
• Standard physical exam required.

Note: Random drug testing is conducted, including THC.

Onboarding & Clearance to Start

• Complete onboarding forms and signed NDA.
• Physical examination, including Qualitative Fit Test.
• Respirator fit test during orientation.
• All workers start on Mondays.
