What are the responsibilities and job description for the Critical Care Nurse Educator position at Trinity Health System?
JOB SUMMARY
As an employee of Trinity Health System, it is the responsibility of this and all positions within the Hospital to support the mission and role of Trinity Health System. The employee also performs all job duties in compliance with laws and regulation in the observance of accrediting agency standards. The Nurse Educator demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assist in the orientation of new nursing employees and assist in the further development of current employees. Through consistent interaction with staff , she/he is able to support the clinical staff in developing the necessary skills for the assigned practice areas. The Nurse Educator serves as a role model, consultant and facilitator in planning, implementing and evaluating the educational and other hospital based activities.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Responsible To:
Dean, School of Nursing
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Education preferred.
- Current Ohio License as Registered Nurse.
- CPR instructor for Basic Life Support.
- Advanced Life Support instructor certification or Pediatric Life Support instructor may be required.
Training and Experience
- Minimum three years of Critical Care experience.
- Previous teaching experience as preceptor or in a health related field.
