Job Description
The Senior Tax Accountant role is open due to an internal promotion, creating a gap at the senior level. The firm is seeking a senior tax professional with strong technical expertise in tax compliance, planning, and consulting to support a growing client portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies and planning to minimize tax liabilities.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities while maintaining compliance.
- Collaborate with managers and partners to address complex tax issues.
- Mentor interns and review their work for accuracy and quality.
- Stay current on tax regulations and trends.
- Conduct client communication primarily via phone, Teams, and email; some face-to-face interaction.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA license or other relevant professional certification preferred
- 4 years of tax experience, with a focus on compliance, planning, and consulting within a public accounting firm
Must-Have / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- ERP/Software: Thomson Reuters, trust/Truss, UltraTax, CCH Engagement
- Excel Knowledge: Advanced
- Other Skills: Strong review ability, client communication, mentoring
