Project Accountant


A well-established construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support financial management across a portfolio of construction projects. This role partners closely with Senior Project Accountants and Project Managers and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

This position will be in office 4 days a week, and the salary ranges from $80k to $100k, commensurate with experience. Construction industry experience is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage subcontractor billing and compliance
  • Prepare and verify documentation for owner requisitions
  • Monitor financial risk and ensure compliance with subcontractor default insurance requirements
  • Assist Project Managers with cost tracking, budget reporting, and forecasting
  • Review certified payroll for regulatory compliance
  • Generate and explain project financial reports for field teams
  • Utilize current accounting and project management software
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 2 years of project accounting experience
  • Experience with construction accounting concepts: over/under billings, cashflow, forecast-to-complete, revenue recognition
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience with accounting software; Sage Timberline and Oracle Textura preferred

Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
