Project Accountant
A well-established construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support financial management across a portfolio of construction projects. This role partners closely with Senior Project Accountants and Project Managers and requires strong communication and organizational skills.
This position will be in office 4 days a week, and the salary ranges from $80k to $100k, commensurate with experience. Construction industry experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage subcontractor billing and compliance
- Prepare and verify documentation for owner requisitions
- Monitor financial risk and ensure compliance with subcontractor default insurance requirements
- Assist Project Managers with cost tracking, budget reporting, and forecasting
- Review certified payroll for regulatory compliance
- Generate and explain project financial reports for field teams
- Utilize current accounting and project management software
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 2 years of project accounting experience
- Experience with construction accounting concepts: over/under billings, cashflow, forecast-to-complete, revenue recognition
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Experience with accounting software; Sage Timberline and Oracle Textura preferred
