SUMMARY:
Responsible for day-to-day financial controls and general ledger accounting duties for Genetics and/or Triumph Foods (Company). Assist Corporate Controller in overseeing Accounts Payable and Payroll.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Limited – will assist Corporate Controller in overseeing Accounts Payable and Payroll.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Enter and approve journal entries into JD Edwards Accounting system.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of period-end financial schedules.
- Having a clear understanding of and being able to articulate all key financial metrics and their impact on the Company’s financial results.
- Provide assistance in applying principles and techniques of accounting to systematically process, verify, document, analyze, and record financial data in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Company policies.
- Analyzing and providing details for senior management to analyze and understand the causes of significant and unusual financial trends.
- Assist the Corporate Controller in implementing and maintaining effective financial controls throughout the Company.
- Effectively working with stakeholders company-wide in order to identify failures and weaknesses in internal processes and in identifying and implementing necessary process improvements
- Provide information to and respond to requests for information from appropriate third parties (including taxing authorities, governmental agencies, external auditors, etc.).
- Prepare and review labor reports and payroll audits.
- Assist in the processing of weekly Accounts Payable and Payroll.
- Assist in other accounting duties as requested.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited educational institution is required. Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook), particularly in creating and manipulating spreadsheets and other data analysis.
KNOWLEDGE:
Must be a detail-oriented, effective performer who can operate within strict timelines and adapt to a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision in a team environment.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
CPA certification or CPA eligible preferred. 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, employees, and Management personnel.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language, such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations. Demonstrated ability to understand basic statistics for process control.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
