What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Manager position at Troy Gastroenterology P.C?
We are in search of a dynamic Practice Manger to lead our gastroenterology and colorectal surgery offices in East Lansing.

Some of the responsibilities you will have:
Leadership and team development

- Manage a team of 50 people in a busy, specialty setting
- Oversee clinical staff as well as care coordinators and reception
- Motivate, measure performance and mentor this team to ensure optimal performance
- Evaluate current procedures for effectiveness; propose changes to improve efficiency and lead team through the change process
Physician partnership and communication

- Serves as a business partner for our physicians to ensure seamless patient care
- Coordinates communication and teamwork among physicians and staff both within the division and the organization
Practice efficiency and effectiveness

- Establishes and implements effective workplace procedures --day-to-day schedules, clinical and administrative workflows, technology, staff and patient issues
- Contributes to budget development, monitor financial performance, report on variances, while seeking opportunities to improve efficiencies
- Evaluates and promotes opportunities for improvement in the patient experience from scheduling, provider experience, patient engagement, follow up care and billing
- Acts as a liaison and communicates all department and organization information to appropriate staff members
Key Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare management preferred; equivalent work experience considered
- Three to five years of experience in a practice management role in a specialty field that includes a combination of office visits and procedure scheduling
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team through process improvement with an emphasis on quality
- Action-oriented - takes effective action while using a high degree of initiative, communication, judgement, discretion to achieve goals and objectives
- Computer literacy and knowledge of relevant health care software
- Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment. Track record for flexibility and adaptability in leading operations through major growth and change.
