This role is based in Dallas, Texas and serves as a member of True North’s Leadership Team. The Managing Director of Business Development is responsible for overseeing the firm’s business development strategies, sales pipeline, revenue goals, and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate has sales and marketing team leadership experience and proven success consistently generating new business.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing successful business development strategies for all markets served in order to generate significant assets for the firm;
- Building and managing an effective and efficient sales pipeline using real-time dashboards in Salesforce;
- Guiding the ongoing professional development, training, and certification of the sales and marketing teams;
- Recruiting additional sales team members, as needed;
- Establishing performance goals for the sales and marketing teams, identifying solutions for barriers to goal achievement, and building a positive culture of accountability;
- Articulating True North’s unique value proposition to convert prospects;
- Supervise the marketing team with drafting communications and planning educational events for clients and prospects; all marketing related activities
- Manage BD Playbook which outline various lead generation strategies , e.g., Ambassadors, PTP, Western.
- Maintaining a clear understanding of key performance metrics, reporting on them weekly, and using that data to drive results.
- Add: Manage and support M&A processes from inception through integration.
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university;
- Applicable professional designation (CFP, CPWA, CFA, etc.) or MBA is strongly preferred;
- Ten or more years related management experience, with ten plus years in sales/business development role, and ten plus years leading and developing a team
- Experience executing the technical aspects of wealth management, including investment management and wealth planning disciplines is highly preferred;
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients is strongly preferred;
- Demonstrated aptitude and passion for sales;
- Proven success in prospect engagement, pipeline management, and opportunity conversion;
- Proficiency with technology (specifically Salesforce, Outlook, Word, Excel, VPNs for remote work, etc.);
- Willingness to a travel approximately 20% of time, as necessary.
