What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Person- Housekeeping position at Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago?
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Houseperson will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all corridors, elevators, elevator landing areas, service landing areas, and back of the house housekeeping areas according to Five Star service standards. They will provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and sock all floor closets. They will also deliver and retrieve items as needed from guest rooms and items requested by associates in the Housekeeping department.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Average Percent of Time
30% Cleans guest hallways. This includes: Sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping doors & number plates, mopping and cleaning windows.
20% Supports room attendants by picking up linen and garbage. (and disposing of as directed).
15% Delivers items to rooms based upon guest request.
10% Restocks supplies in the linen closet.
10% Hangs shower curtains in guest rooms. Special projects (replacing clocks or time changes).
10% Pleasantly interacts with all guests.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
Moves furniture when requested by manager.- Reports any safety concerns to manager.
- Assist co-workers, as requested.
- Provide customer service to guests, including information about hotel services, activities and local attractions.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled.- Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as: vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles.
- Ability to read and recognize room/suite numbers.
- Ability to learn, follow and practice standards for cleanliness.
- Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as necessary to effectively work within the department.
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to move throughout, building, bend, stop and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent preferred but not necessary.
EXPERIENCE
6 months to 1 year cleaning experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
No special licenses or certificates required.
GROOMING
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
OTHER
Additional language ability is strongly preferred.
