POSITION PURPOSE:
To provide the best quality of service and a high standard of cleanliness. The appearance and cleanliness of the hotel is the responsibility of everyone and cooperation is essential to achieve the objective of the hotel in accordance with Hotel, Corporate and local standards. Clean and maintain all corridors, vending areas, elevators and landings and service areas on guest room floors, ensuring resort's standards of cleanliness. Provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and stock floor closets. Provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and stock floor closets. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and Inspector. The House Attendant must deliver prompt and courteous service to guests, ensuring all guest experiences are distinctively supreme. This position must adhere to all safety procedures, and follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Clean designated areas with proper chemicals, tools and equipment:
A. Guest room floor corridors
B. Floor closets
- Service corridors
- Elevators, tracks and landings
- Guest laundry room
- Guest vending areas/Ice Machine Room
- Stairwells
- Work in a safe manner and abide by occupational Health & Safety legislation and hotel policies in regard to accident and incident reporting procedures
- Abide by the policies and procedures as set out in the Associate Handbook and any other applicable Company Policies
- Wear the appropriate uniform as supplied by the hotel and appropriate footwear
- Attend all scheduled shifts including shift work and weekend work in accordance with the schedules
- Greet guest in a friendly and courteous manner during all interactions
- Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism
- Responsible for reporting any maintenance required in the hotel including guest corridors
- Ensure that trolleys, vacuum cleaners and other equipment are maintained in good condition
- Ensure that all storage areas are functional, well maintained, clean and have a professional appearance
- Liaise with the Coordinators/supervisor about any requests, urgent messages or matters
- Ensure all rubbish is collected regularly and to be taken down to the loading dock at the end of the day
- Ensure that all service areas are clean at the end of the shift
- Remove the bottles and paper from the recycling crate and take to the loading dock
- Ensure guest amenities and cages are re-stocked daily and advise shift leaders if anything is to be ordered
- Ensure that lost property is returned to the Housekeeping department as soon as possible and appropriate forms are completed
- Fully understand all House Attendant procedures and daily duties checklist
- Perform other duties/tasks and projects as assigned
- Review assigned area and complete general removal of any trash or debris on floors.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies /service procedures/standards.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Be familiar with all resort services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Provide timely delivery of any items requested by guests.
- Retrieve items from guest rooms and return to proper storage areas.
- Transport guest laundry and dry cleaning to correct guest rooms.
- Handle guest requests for shoe shines as assigned; retrieve shoes from guest room, shine shoes and return to guest room.
- Report any damages or maintenance problems to the Management.
- Turn over any lost and found items to the Lost and Found.
- Ensure security of guest room access and resort property.
- Able to work under pressure at a rapid pace.
- Must vacuum and clean guest corridors daily
- Pick up rollaway from the guest room.
- Reject Linen daily
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE
Previous janitorial experience preferred. Knowledge of floor buffer, extractor operation. Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
