The Principal Compensation Analyst partners with the HR team and business to advise on compensation programs and guidelines. Responsibilities include performing a lead role in salary planning and bonus administration, automation initiatives, Rewards & Recognition administration, job evaluations, offer support, and enhancement of organization capability through education and training. The Principal Compensation Analyst may also participate or oversee market surveys as needed in support of the department, act as the day-to-day contact on compensation matters for the site, and liaise with other key stakeholders including IT, Finance, Payroll, and Headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, auditing, and maintenance of complex Excel reports to support team and client-based projects, including the setup of annual merit and bonus cycles and pay-equity analysis.
- Collaborate with the Compensation Manager, Overseas Compensation, and HR/IT Technology teams to identify process and tool efficiencies that streamline end-to-end global compensation processes. Identify business requirements for global compensation and bonus tools to ensure site-specific needs are met.
- Engages with HR business partners to diagnose complex compensation issues and guide business leaders and managers on application of our compensation programs, policies, and guidelines in support of organization goals.
- Own or oversee the administration of annual merit and bonus cycles as assigned and support the preparation of final program metrics for executive leadership and Overseas Compensation.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to HR partners and leaders on compensation programs, including analyzing and communicating pay administration programs and overseeing localization offer process.
- Ensure company compliance with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to compensation and support company audits.
- Maintain and contribute to department SOPs, internal controls, and required documents.
- Lead or participate in the development and delivery of compensation training for human resources and business leaders.
- Serve as a key team member on various compensation projects, performing additional duties of a similar nature and level as required.
- Mentors and guides junior team members, providing technical expertise and support for their development.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of prior compensation analyst experience preferably in semiconductor, hi-tech, aerospace, or manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Advanced understanding of compensation best practices and regulatory environments. Understand and apply compensation-related legislation, rules, and regulations for North America.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including experience building data models, using v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, and willingness to learn macros.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems, with PeopleSoft experience preferred.
- Strong math skills and an understanding of statistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred.
Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix Arizona facility.
