Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager

Job Summary:
As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will ensure timely invoicing, vouchering, and payment to vendors and customers while maintaining accurate accounting records and performing bank reconciliations. You will also manage corporate credit cards, maintain cash flow projections, and collaborate with operating teams to create efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure timely invoicing to customers, timely vouchering and payment to vendors, and timely and accurate accounting for all business operations
2. General ledger maintenance including current and prior period adjustments
3. Accuracy in GAAP-based accounting, including monthly journal entries and adjustments in proper periods
4. Accuracy in management of accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledgers
5. Auditing of expenses and expense accounts to ensure proper recording and G/L allocations
6. Management of corporate credit cards
7. Maintaining 13-week cash flow projections and ensuring all inputs are consistently accurate
8. Performing bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations
9. Entering payroll in payroll software system and accurately recording journal entries
10. Maintaining required personnel records, tax records, and business documents
11. Helping Tucker become a “Broker of Choice” for motor carriers by executing a payment process that is predictable, reliable, and an overall positive experience
12. Collaborating with operating teams and updating accounting processes to create efficiencies
13. Backing up credit staff to issue new credit and make ongoing credit adjustments
14. Helping achieve scale & reduce waste by taking proactive measures to ensure that subordinate staff members within the accounting department are maximally productive at all times
15. Assisting Controller in overseeing purchase/lease/finance/banking activities and record-keeping of corporate resources by maintaining records related to this activity and providing data, reports, and information to aid decision-making
16. Informing the accountable Tucker staff of any new vendor agreements to assist the company with its contract management, storage, and retrieval process and in keeping compliant with the company's Critical Vendor policy
17. And as a Manager ensures adherence and demonstration of Core Values by all underlying subordinate staff
18. Assisting in creation of monthly financial package
19. Creating (with Controller) and monitoring accounting department KPIs
20. Other responsibilities and projects as assigned by Controller
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Experience:
3-5 years' experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant
Skills:
Deep knowledge and understanding of accounting software systems
Knowledge of GAAP and double-entry accounting
MS Excel intermediate to advanced
Willingness to help others and display an enthusiastic attitude
Proficiency in MS Office and aptitude to learn other related technologies
Experience in Transportation/Logistics/Procurement field
