Position summary
The QuickBooks Inventory Setup Specialist will be responsible for setting up, configuring, and optimizing inventory tracking within QuickBooks for Turfware, Inc. This role requires expertise in both QuickBooks software and inventory management best practices to ensure accurate inventory records, streamlined workflows, and effective financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Work within our current system to configure and customize QuickBooks inventory features according to company needs, including setting up inventory items, categories, and tracking methods.
- Import and reconcile existing inventory data into QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Establish reorder points for inventory items to optimize stock levels and prevent shortages.
- Develop and implement efficient inventory control procedures, including physical counts, cycle counts, and adjustments.
- Provide training and support to staff on QuickBooks inventory functionality and best practices.
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless inventory management processes.
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and improve financial reporting accuracy.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving any inventory-related discrepancies or issues within QuickBooks.
- Stay updated on QuickBooks inventory features and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in QuickBooks setup and inventory management.
- Deep knowledge of inventory accounting principles, including landed cost allocation and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) treatment.
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop inventory modules.
- Strong understanding of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions about inventory optimization.
Preferred qualifications
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification (Online or Desktop) with specialization in inventory management.
- Experience with integrating QuickBooks with other systems, such as Point of Sale (POS) or e-commerce platforms.
- Familiarity with industry-specific inventory requirements (e.g., manufacturing, retail, wholesale).
