SUMMARY:
Responsible for cabling and termination of UTP, STP, F/UTP, Category 3, Category 5e, Category 6, Category 6A, Coaxial Cable, ESS/IDS cables, OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4, OM5, OS1, OS2, and various other wiring disciplines.
The position includes the testing and troubleshooting of wiring problems in both ISP and OSP environments.
Compensation Range: $52,000 - $68,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for running all the above referenced new cabling in new or existing buildings.
- Responsible for the termination of all the above referenced cable types and connectors.
- Ability to operate all types of tests and/or certification equipment.
- Ability to read specifications, technical diagrams and floor plans.
- Responsible for problem resolution and troubleshooting of cable.
- Ability to operate various types of power tools.
- Ability to install, place and setup all elements of a Technology Room, including ladder racks, cabinets, equipment racks, vertical cable managers.
- Ability to install, per plan elevations, passive ITS equipment (patch panels, fiber optic enclosures, cable managers etc.) as well as active LAN equipment.
- Understanding of cable support requirements and the installation of the devices to support said cabling.
- Understanding of applicable bonding for telecommunications equipment.
- Experience with multiple ITS manufacturers hardware.
- Fiber Optic splicing experience a plus.
- Public Address equipment installation experience a plus.
- Sound Masking equipment installation experience a plus.
- CCTV camera, Wireless Access Point and ESS/IDS device installation a plus.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is/shall:
- Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Have personal transportation to jobsites.
- Ableto pass a comprehensive criminal background investigation.
- Eligible to apply for, obtain and maintain a government clearance.
- Understandscurrent TIA Specifications and BICSI best practices.
- Knowledge ofapplicable building codes (NEC's).
- Basic computer skills and be able to demonstrate good writing skills
- Basic office software skills, such as Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel Word.
- Works well with little supervision individually and in a team environment
- Able to lift, push, andpull up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Able to use a ladder, power tools, and other related tools.
- Ableto communicate effectively with customers, other trades, and TWD management &staff.
- Must maintain a professional appearance at all times and in compliance with site specific / common (OSHA) safety requirements.
Preferred:
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
- Manlift experience / certification is a plus.
- Possession of a BICSI certification a plus.
- Possession of an active/current Top Secret Clearance a plus.
