Editorial Intern

Twin Cities Business
Paul, MN Intern
POSTED ON 8/5/2025 CLOSED ON 9/4/2025

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Editorial Intern position at Twin Cities Business?

Responsibilities

The paid position ($15.97/hour) is 20 hours per week and involves fact checking, story development and pitches, participating in various editorial projects, and reporting/writing for Twin Cities Business (TCB) print and online. Interns develop research and reporting skills while getting an inside look at the workings of a print magazine and business news website. We want our interns to leave with experience in both print and digital publishing platforms, crucial in today's job market. This is an opportunity to expand your writing portfolio and get bylines online and in print. Recent former TCB interns went on to work at the Star Tribune, Reorg, Jacksonville Business Journal, Haworth Marketing Media, and other publications and content companies.

Internship Dates: May 2025 start, duration 3-4 months, with possible extensions.

Location: TCB offers a hybrid work culture. Interns are expected to be in-office on Tuesdays. Our office is open during regular business hours, but much of the work can be done remotely.

Requirements: You must have internet access for this position. Candidates must be considering a journalism career and have some prior experience with reporting and newswriting, if only in an academic capacity. Interest in magazines and business is desired. Experience at a student or other publication is preferred.

TCB is a local publication and in-person attendance for reporting, staff meetings, and company events is expected.. Candidates who will be outside the MSP metro area during the period of the internship should not apply.

To Apply: To apply, please email a cover letter, current resume, and writing samples or clips (not academic writing) to TCB Executive Editor Adam Platt at aplatt@tcbmag.com. You must also include the date you can start and your Monday through Friday availability to be considered. Apply by March 31. We will contact candidates as soon as we are able.

Please note: We do not accept applications submitted through Handshake or LinkedIn.
