Job Summary
Tyler-Smith County Crimestoppers, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Crimestoppers Coordinator to join our team. This role is key to helping area law enforcement solve crimes and locate fugitives by managing anonymous tips, supporting community outreach, and assisting the Crimestoppers Board of Directors with administrative, financial, and grant-related duties.
Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and document anonymous tips from informants
- Coordinate tip information with appropriate law enforcement agencies
- Track follow-ups, arrests, recoveries, and reward payments
- Prepare financial reports, grant applications, and board meeting agendas
- Maintain all Crimestoppers records, statistics, and reports for state compliance
- Assist in creating media releases and publicizing wanted individuals
- Help plan and support fundraising efforts and community events
- Ensure compliance with Texas Crimestoppers regulations and training
Experience
- High School Diploma required
- 30 college credit hours preferred
- Law enforcement or criminal justice experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with NCIC/TCIC procedures (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and modern office tools
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Willingness to be on call for time-sensitive situations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based with occasional field work
- Some walking, standing, and lifting (up to 20 lbs.)
- Must be available for irregular work hours and after-hours calls
