Role highlights
- Oversee all second-shift maintenance for ammonia refrigeration assets and supporting systems.
- Guide, mentor, and evaluate a team of 15 refrigeration techs to boost skills and productivity.
- Build and run preventive maintenance schedules that extend equipment life and minimize disruptions.
- Conduct routine inspections to catch issues early and remove safety risks.
- Manage maintenance budgets; track spending and optimize costs.
- Partner with outside vendors/contractors for specialized work.
- Keep meticulous documentation: work orders, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Enforce regulatory compliance and company policies; drive a Safety First culture.
Must-haves
- Ability to lead, direct, train, and evaluate a 15-person refrigeration team.
- Experience measuring performance and reducing downtime through troubleshooting and repair leadership.
- Commitment to Safety First and proven ability to instill safe practices.
- Experience building and maintaining preventive maintenance programs.
- Education beyond high school (vocational training and/or college-level coursework).
- 3 years in industrial refrigeration (ammonia experience required).
- Elementary computer skills (email, data entry into templates, simple queries).
- Travel availability: 1–5 trips per year.
- Background supervising personnel performing closely related tasks.
