Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Daily Operations: Supervise and manage the daily activities within the hatchery.
- Strategic Planning: Formulate and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Documentation: Complete chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, and mortality charts. Maintain logs for each truck, including miles and hours worked by each driver.
- Logistics Coordination: Ensure timely movement of chicks to farms according to the shipment schedule.
- Equipment Monitoring: Oversee the incubation, hatchery, and environmental control equipment.
- Personnel Supervision: Lead and supervise hatchery personnel on a daily basis.
- Egg Grading: Grade fleets of eggs from hen farms.
- Vaccine Preparation: Prepare vaccines for the chickens.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as needed and as assigned by the manager.
- Education: Requires education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are required.
- Travel: Occasional travel, approximately 1-2 times per year.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
