Position Title: Director of Corporate & Foundation Grants
Department: Development
Reports to: Vice President of Development
Position Objective and Summary:
This position cultivates, solicits, and stewards private institutional prospects to support the advancement of UCAN’s mission. In addition to meeting fundraising revenue targets for corporations, foundations, and donor advised funds through best-in-class solicitation techniques, the incumbent will cultivate relationships with direct and indirect decision-makers to develop and sustain partnerships. This position will primarily focus on foundation and corporation opportunities but may include collaboration on opportunities for government support as well.

Education/Job Experience/Certification:
- Documented successful track record in grant writing, with objective evidence of having secured grant funding at the six/seven figure level.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fundraising research practices and wealth screening techniques
- Exceptional written and oral language skills and quantitative acumen.
- Knowledge of fundraising and nonprofit best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree expected, advanced degree in nonprofit management, business administration, social sciences or marketing fields desirable.
Special Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Deep commitment to ethical practices and integrity.
- Exceptional editing and proofreading skills.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
- Experience with fundraising and CRM software, Blackbaud NXT a plus.
- Commitment to advancing cultural diversity and inclusion inside and outside UCAN.
- Solid understanding of key financial concepts and how to read financial documents.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines, often under pressure.
- Flexible and independent approach to managing workload and scheduling.
- Customer service focus and attitude.
- Ability to engage and interact with a wide variety of decision-makers, program and financial staff, and the persons served by UCAN.
Position Status: Exempt
Work Environment:
- This position has some direct contact with clients
- Some evening/weekend work required
