Technical Writer

Description

UEC is seeking a Technical Writer to support a temporary operational need. This onsite role should last 6 or more months depending on program efforts. Some perks are holiday pay, overtime, and fun employee events

Responsibilities & Duties

• Create and maintain technical engineering documentations 
• Translate oral and written communication to simplistic terms in proper grammatical form. 
• Work closely with Engineers; edit material prepared by engineers
• Edit and proofread documentation to ensure that it is free of errors and easy to understand.
• Collect user feedback to update and improve content.
• Develop and maintain a format to ensure consistency across all documentation.
• Draft Change Orders as requested.
• Complete assigned tasks and written reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Write or revise supporting other content as requested

Requirements

Minimum Requirements (Completed or the combination of either):

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field.
• Associate degree in English or journalism with at least 2 years of experience.
• Satisfactorily achieved an academic high school diploma with 3 years related experience writing articles that were published. (i.e. social media, bulletins, etc.)
• Proven writing experience with a strong portfolio of work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps
• Able to work in an environment with changing priorities.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
