Position Title Patient Financial Advisor Indian Creek Medical Plaza 2 Position Summary / Career Interest: The Reproductive endocrinology, and infertility Patient Financial Advisor is responsible for providing financial assistance to all patients and families throughout the health system.Assists patients with benefit review, prior authorizations, and pre certifications for procedures completed in the office. Provide patients with resources for funding of non-covered fertility cycles. Assists patients with questions regarding coding and insurance processing for claims from clinic Assists clinic with timely billing and documentation review for billing purposes. Performs charge entry and charge review for clinic. . . Maintains productivity, quality and customer service requirements according to department policy and procedure. Responsibilities: Contacts the patient or family by phone or in person to ask them questions about coverage and benefits as dictated by the patient.. Includes health insurance, COBRA, VA benefits, , Medicaid or Medicare. Complies with Medicare/Medicaid rules and regulations. Updates patient account information and patient demographic information appropriately. Reviews the account within 1 business day to assure verification and pre-certification are complete and accurate. Works daily WQS consisting of all unsecured accounts. Requires taking appropriate actions necessary such as phone calls and written communication and using appropriate codes and time frames. Assists "walk-in" customers requesting assistance, and customer service calls with questions. Responsible for Point of Service collections and EPIC documentation when applicable. Performs benefit verification, pre-certification, and prior authorization for patient services. Performs charge entry and reconciling of physician billing Provides description of benefits and services to patients pertaining to REI specialty. Assists Rev Cycle team with claim denials when requested. Cryopreservation billing and payment collection. Provides clinical outcomes to required insurance companies. Provides patient appropriate documentation to patients for outside grant and scholarship application. * Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. * Note: These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. JOB REQUIREMENTS Required: High school diploma or GED 3 years’ experience in financial advising, claims processing, collections, customer service, revenue cycle positions that including: admitting, patient accounting, prior authorizations, or pre-registration.
