What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sleep Lab Supervisor position at UNC Health Blue Ridge?
JOB SUMMARY: Performs all necessary tasks to assure efficient operation of the Sleep Lab, including assisting with personnel administration and clinical coordination of patient care
Essential Functions
- Scheduling of Sleep Techs
- Conducts on-going training, verification of competencies, and the overall quality of the sleep studies and scoring.
- Works in concert with Manager to maintain Sleep Lab’s AASM accreditation status and to develop and implement appropriate clinical services.
- Performs MSLT, MWT, and day PSG procedures along with working in conjunction with night shift on HST studies.
- Manages inventory at designated facility to meet the needs of the sleep lab and meet budgetary goals.
- Adheres to quality control, infection control, quality assurance guidelines, and safety guidelines for equipment and the work area.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures for Blue Ridge Healthcare Sleep Lab
- Troubleshoots equipment when minor technical problems occur
- Assists with scheduling all Sleep Lab appointments and cancellations.
- Provides support for nightshift during vacations and sick days
- Provides support for Doctors with rescore and technical issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. BRPT Registered Polysomnographic Technologist required.
Experience: Must have at least 5 years’ experience performing polysomnographic procedures
License/Registration: Previous Supervisory/Management experience preferred. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA is required

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work requires frequent sitting and standing. Must be able to lift 35 pounds. Must be sighted and capable of administering adult CPR
