Assistant Cheese Manager

We at Uncle Giuseppe's have a LOVE for Cheese! We are seeking a FT Assistant Cheese Manager in our North Babylon Store who also loves cheese! This individual must have experience working within customer service.

As Assistant Cheese Manager at Uncle Giuseppe’s, individual prepares, stocks, serves and merchandises cheese and related food products to our customers and maintains our high standards of safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

· Supports a positive customer experience, providing guests with a unique, enthusiastic and informational experience

· Observes and supports all store rules and company policies

· Packs, labels and merchandises cheese and related items according to Uncle Giuseppe’s policies

· Maintains the entire work area in clean and sanitary conditions while following all company safety procedures within the store

· Supervises a staff of cheese clerks

· Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements and skills

· High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of past experience working with Cheese

· Excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell and recognize sales opportunities with guests

· Great passion for cheese!

· Highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

· Self- motivated to succeed, meet deadlines and follow through on tasks

· Strong attention to detail for accuracy in all facets of the position

· This is a hands on position

Must have open availability to include M-F and weekends. Schedules will be made according to store need.

Working Conditions

• Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
• Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
• There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
