A little about our position....
Our busy North Babylon store is actively seeking a FT Deli Manager for its Deli Team! Our Deli Managers are responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the entire Deli Department within the store. Responsible for the staff within the Deli Department with regards to schedules, training, hiring and monitoring performance. This position will provide daily, weekly and monthly counts and reports. Ensure that products are stocked and rotated and that shelf pricing reflects the most up to date pricing.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the Deli Department including interviewing, hiring, and training staff
- Supervise employees in various duties such as cutting, serving, packaging and other customer service counter functions
- Manage product storage, maintenance and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilages
- Schedule and assign work for associates on daily basis
- Provide training to staff on company policies and sales guidelines
- Respond to queries and complaints from both customers and employees
- Ensure that products are properly labeled with prices and dates
- Monitor and maintain stock inventory levels to avoid over and under stock problems
- Interact politely with clients while solving problems related to sales, dissatisfied service and issues regarding store operation
- Operate all food preparation machines and equipment
- Receive, unload and stock the food items
- Ensure that facility is maintained neat, clean and safe
- Other duties and functions as assigned
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of exp working in a Deli as a Deli Assistant Manager/Manager. Must have in depth knowledge of deli meat cutting, salad making and customer service counter interaction
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Must be able to speak, read and communicate in the English language
