We are seeking an experienced individual who has a background in civil construction, pipe estimation, grading estimation, or utility contracting estimation that is relevant.
A Senior Estimator has extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles. is responsible for all preconstruction proposals & pricing budgets. They review drawings, technical documents and other associated documentation to complete take-offs, pricing and ultimately a bid proposal through partnering with other key United Grading employees such as project managers, superintendents, field staff, etc..
Job Responsibilities
- Complete take-offs and quotes for all RFQ’s brought in by preconstruction team, business development figures, or project managers/superintendents or outside solicitations of our clients.
- Send quote to customer before due date, ensuring all pricing & labor costs have been accounted for
- Communicate directly with customer regarding scope & contract pricing. Work with the operational team on proposal strategy, basis-of-design changes, or value engineering options.
- Work with vendors to receive quotes, prepare bids, and write proposals.
- Manage bids that range in size and complexity simultaneously. Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare cost and labor estimates for products, projects or services.
- Assist in development of department improvement initiatives such as historical data, tool and template development.
- Work with Senior Project Staff to understand and complete an entire bid package properly.
Requirements
- 10 Years experience creating documentation such as RFIs, and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts.
- 10 years of experience estimating role projects of varying size, scope, and alternative delivery methods.
- 10 Years experience evaluating and presenting data from past and current project cost estimates and systems to enhance estimating accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or similar or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience within heavy civil infrastructure construction.
- Knowledge of software for proposal drawings
- Microsoft Office Use
- Bluebeam or Planswift experience is an advantage.
- Agtek Proficient & Experienced
- Heavy Bid Construction Software experience is a strong advantage.
- Experience with AutoCAD
