Description

Front Office Responsibilities

  1. Patient Reception:

    • Greet patients and visitors warmly.
    • Verify patient identity and ensure correct demographic information is recorded.
  2. Appointment Scheduling:

    • Schedule and confirm patient appointments for imaging procedures.
    • Manage the appointment calendar to optimize scheduling efficiency.
  3. Check-In Process:

    • Collect and verify insurance information.
    • Ensure necessary paperwork is completed and accurate.
  4. Communication:

    • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and insurance.
    • Provide patients with information about their appointments and any required preparations.
  5. Record Management:

    • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
    • Ensure that imaging orders are complete and properly documented.
  6. Billing Support:

    • Assist in collecting co-pays and outstanding balances.
    • Provide patients with information regarding costs and payment options.

Authorization Responsibilities

  1. Insurance Verification:

    • Verify insurance coverage and benefits for imaging services.
    • Determine eligibility for specific procedures.
  2. Prior Authorizations:

    • Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies when required.
    • Follow up on pending authorizations to ensure timely processing.
  3. Documentation:

    • Prepare and submit necessary documentation to insurance providers.
    • Maintain records of authorization requests and responses.
  4. Coordination with Clinical Staff:

    • Collaborate with radiologists and technologists to ensure all necessary clinical information is provided for authorization requests.
