What are the responsibilities and job description for the ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) position at United States Fleet Forces Command?

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in Code 981, FACILITIES PLANNING & ANALYSIS BRANCH, PRODUCTION ENGINEERING & FACILITIES DIVISION, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Qualifications:

FOR THE GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience applying engineering technical principles, concepts, and practices;
  • Experience working with equipment, structures, and systems of other engineering disciplines as applicable to submarine overhaul/repair and alterations;
  • Experience applying conventional methods used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning management processes, providing solutions, and recommending appropriate action;
  • Experience preparing and presenting findings and recommend solutions, including preparation and presentation of graphs and charts;
  • Experience operating computer applications and database software.

FOR THE GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience understanding engineering technical principles, concepts, and practices;
  • Experience working with equipment, structures, and systems of other engineering disciplines as applicable to submarine overhaul/repair and alterations;
  • Experience applying problem solving techniques used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning management processes, providing solutions, and recommending appropriate action;
  • Experience preparing presentation of graphs and charts;
  • Experience using computer applications and database software.
