What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Data Analyst 3 position at University of California San Francisco?
The Research Data Analyst will be asked to perform tasks related to statistical analysis and data management, including ensuring data quality (assessing data completeness, cleaning, verification, reliability and validity of study variables, and identifying and addressing data gaps and missing data), preparing data for analysis, conducting statistical analysis in support of research proposals and protocols and independently planning studies or supervising other analysts in large, complex studies. This Data Analyst will assist in preparing the dissemination of findings (e.g. writing methods, tables and figures for publication), and in submitting IRB approvals and modifications.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum three years’ experience or equivalent combination of experience / training
- Thorough knowledge of research function
- Thorough skills associated with statistical analysis and programming
- Thorough skills in analysis and consultation
- Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
- Skills in project management
- Research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters in related field
