Act as liaison between third party payors and providers to resolve payment variance and denied claims trends, along with other payor issues that may impact reimbursement.
Maintain current knowledge of payer criteria/polices related to billing requirements and denial sources.
Analyze and communicate changes to payment policies that may have a material impact to the organization.
Maintain IDX Reject Subsystem for full capture and utilization of denial data.
Using coding knowledge, identify potential problems with the billing and reimbursement process.
When researching cause for payment variance and denial, collaborate with provider support staff to utilize technical resources to avoid reimbursement issues (e.g. Transaction Editing System, Claims Manager, etc.).
Monitor post-project success rate to maintain reduction of payment variances and successful appeals. Communicate to management other issues identified during projects to prioritize future efforts
This position is eligible for University Physicians work from home program.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in health or business related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Procedural Coder is preferred. Three to four years of supervisory experience and directly related experience involving physician billing procedures is preferred.
Be proficient in Microsoft office and preferred experience with Experian Contract Management.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $22.00 - $34.74 hourly
Grade: GGS - 007
