Manages day-to-day responsibilities for staff in research study administration, recruitment, and logistics. Develops and implements operational plans and systems for recruitment, data collection, and meeting project goals and deliverables. Ensures study protocols are met and adhered to and facilitates an organizational system for accumulated study data forms and procedures.
Med-Medicine
The Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Division of the DOM. The division is made of up approximately 70 clinical staff and over 100 research staff who work in a variety of locations including: Bridgeside Point, Biomedical Science Tower (BST), UPMC Hospitals including Presbyterian, Shadyside, East, Jameson and Mercy. The division provides world class services across 10 inpatient services at five hospitals and over 70,000 outpatient office visits. We have a major research mission that focuses on basic, clinical, and translational research on the lung, microbiome, COVID-19, sleep medicine, and allergy and immunology.

Essential Functions
Develop & implement staff operational plans/systems for recruitment, data collection, associated research oversight tasks to meet project goals and deliverables. Oversees patient recruitment & enrollment. Design & implement system for organizing data collection, develop study protocols, design case report forms, collaborate to set up database systems, develop data monitoring procedures, & supervise data entry & maintenance of raw data. Works with principal investigators in developing and maintaining submissions to regulatory and funding agencies; works closely with investigators in developing and managing study budgets including approving expenses. Supervise staff, train, distribute & review work, performance reviews & documenting disciplinary actions.
Physical Effort
Incumbent must stand approximately 3-4 hours/day, and walk up to 1 mile 3-4 times/day.
