PurposeThis position is funded by a 5-year NIH grant to study the effects of an asthma intervention program with Latinx families. TheResearch Associates will conduct assessments with research participants in English and Spanish and conduct recruitment of participants through primary care clinics throughout Austin, as well as provide support to the facilitators delivering the intervention. TheResearch Associates will be responsible for gathering data and preparing materials for publication. TheResearch Associates will also be involved in preparing data for analysis and conducting quantitative analyses, and completing other related research tasks as assigned. The current end date for this project is 04/30/2023. This position is part-time, and the scheduled weekly hours is 20 hours/week. The position will be renewed annually depending on continued grant funding and performance.
ResponsibilitiesConducting assessments and facilitating the intervention with families participating in the study.
Assisting with recruitment of families and working with clinics to identify eligible families.
Recruiting, delivering the intervention sessions, and collecting data.
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis for data collection
Reliable transportation to travel in Austin and surrounding areas for data collection and project management
$25,000 (20 hours of work per week)
Working ConditionsOffice and data collection in the field
Data collection visits are often scheduled on evenings and weekends due to research participant scheduling needs
