JOB TITLE:
Assistant ProfessorJOB PURPOSE:
The University of Wyoming's Department of Physics & Astronomy invites applications for two (2) full-time tenure-track faculty positions beginning in August 2023.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a strong research program and work with colleagues from the Department of Physics & Astronomy to expand and strengthen research and education capacity in condensed matter physics at the University of Wyoming. The successful candidates' responsibilities will include: Developing a vigorous independent research program supported by external grant funding, high-quality teaching and mentoring; and working collaboratively with faculty and staff.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of a PhD degree in physics or a closely related field and at least one year of postdoctoral research experience in experimental condensed matter physics is required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to applicants with research experience in the field of condensed matter physics with a focus on light-matter interactions utilizing optical methods (ultrafast, magnetooptical, etc.) for materials characterizations.
