Responsible for the administration of the Peer Support Services. Perform administrative tasks relative to the service such as quality improvement, process improvement and service coverage. Responsible for the activities of staff members engaged in the provision of patient care services. Oversee administrative, fiscal and human resource management activities within assigned area. Provide direct patient care services as required. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Patient care assignment may include; Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric ager groups.

Detailed Responsibilities:
- PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
- SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
- MEETINGS - Attend meetings as required, and participate on committees as directed
- PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
- PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
- SCHEDULE - Coordinate staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage; adjust/change schedules as necessary; Oversee patient schedules to ensure appropriate care
- RECORDS - Ensure maintenance of procedure records and patient billing charges; prepare and maintain statistical data, reports and memoranda; direct equipment maintenance and storage; ensure adequate supply and equipment levels
- VENDORS - Meet with vendor representatives; evaluate new equipment and techniques
- MONITOR - Oversees Intraoperative Monitoring Program which includes Evoked Potential and Brain Mapping
- MONITOR - Oversee long term Digital EEG Monitoring Program for Intensive Care Units
- TESTS - Perform Electroencephalogram (EEG) and other related duties
- PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
- TRAINING - Assists in training personnel
- PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
- BUDGET - Prepare and administer department budget; monitor and manage budget expenditures
- DIRECTION - Provide clinical direction to staff
- COMMUNICATION - Develop and maintain good communication with other hospital departments
- COMPLIANCE – Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring lab operations and programs and physical properties; initiate changes as required
