What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slitter Operator position at UPG?

Chicago Steel powered by UPG is looking to fill a Slitter Operator position. Chicago Steel is looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Change slitter heads for job change over
- Setup overarm on re-coiler according to work order
- Enter accurate information into computer
- Setup slitter for accurate slitting according to work order
- Spot and determine possible visual defects
- Setup for burr free slitting
Position Requirements
- 1 year or more of slitter Operator
- Ability to operate a forklift (as needed)
- Experience running an overhead crane
- Ability to use and read micrometer, caliper, and tape measure
- Strong reading, writing, mathematical, and computer knowledge
