The Sleep, Affective Neuroscience, and Development Lab – University of Pittsburgh is looking for a casual Research Assistant!
The SAND Lab is located within UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital and is headed by Dr. Soehner. This position involves assisting with multiple aspects of Department of Defense and National Institute of Mental Health studies examining how sleep-circadian factors impact mood and performance in adolescents and young adults. The casual Research Assistant will have the chance to be involved in state-of-the-art research focused on sleep and circadian rhythms including hands-on collection of sleep, behavioral, and biological data collection in our sleep lab.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Sleep-circadian data collection in our sleep lab, behavioral testing, and participant monitoring. Ensuring accurate and complete data collection.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with participants, colleagues, and undergraduate directed research students.
- Perform data collection and entry.
- Assisting study team with other research-related activities as-needed (i.e., participant recruitment, screening, data entry, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or current enrollment, with some experience in research environment.
- Experience in the area of Public Health, Psychology, Applied Research or Behavioral Health is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and the ability to learn various software packages as needed.
