To become a part-time Navy physician, you must meet certain qualifications:

• Hold a MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy
• Be currently licensed to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico
• Be eligible for board certification
• Have completed at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
• Be between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis up to age 68)
• Be a U.S. citizen
