The Materials Technician completes materials test plans supporting the introduction of new products and materials for the Claremont fiber optic cable plant as well as other Prysmian cable plants around the world. The materials technician also tracks and manages the inventory of consumables and other materials and cable samples in the materials lab. The Materials Technician will obtain regularly updated lists of planned materials tests as well as test details and ensure that test plans are completed. The materials technician will follow documented work instructions in order to complete all standard testing required to support new product development, new materials development, and ongoing quality control activities. Test data obtained by the Materials Technician will be recorded and documented according to Prysmian procedures in Microsoft Excel format on standardized data sheets or some other format specified in the test plan. The materials technical will assist in operation and maintenance in various pieces of laboratory equipment.
