POSITION SUMMARY
As a Commercial Finance Planner at Aptiv's Troy Technical Center in the Active Safety User Experience Segment, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial success of our projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support Budget Business Plan and forecasting processes: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the development of budget and forecasting plans.
- Manage the P&L and CF for specified projects: Take ownership of profit and loss statements and cash flow management for designated projects, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Track near-term P&L customer profitability: Monitor and analyze the profitability of customer accounts in the short term, identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Work closely with various competencies to analyze product financials: Collaborate with different teams to evaluate and analyze the financial aspects of our products and projects.
- Maintain and understand key performance indicators: Continuously track and interpret key financial performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide guidance to project competencies to achieve key performance metrics: Offer guidance and support to project teams to achieve and exceed key financial performance metrics.
- Support Ad Hoc reporting and analysis: Respond to ad hoc requests for financial analysis and reporting as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong analytical capabilities and exceptional financial modeling and analysis skills: Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis is essential to excel in this role.
- Strong understanding of the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow: Thorough knowledge of financial statements is critical for effective financial planning.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and communication (written and verbal) skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced/dynamic environment and to think outside the box: Adaptability and creative problem-solving are key attributes for success.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance: A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required for this role.
- Strong MS Excel skills required: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for data analysis and financial modeling.
- Ability to communicate across multiple competencies and Senior Leadership: Effective communication with various stakeholders, including senior leadership, is a critical skill.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and application of project financial analysis: Prior experience in project financial analysis is a plus.
- Prior Financial Planning and Analysis experience: Previous experience in financial planning and analysis roles is preferred.
