Job Summary:
The Clinical Inventory Specialist leads the end-to-end execution of clinical financial transactions for a defined set of client departments including requisitioning, purchasing, payment processing and financial reporting activities. The Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely execution, monitoring, and reporting of clinical financial transactions across a defined set of departments. The individual assists with central inventory management and verifies the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders.
Job Duties:
- Processes common clinical financial transactions including, but not limited to, reimbursements, purchase requisitions, internal transfers, and payments to individuals
- Maintains documentation of clinical transactions and confirms completeness, accuracy, and compliance with UT Health San Antonio and clinic policies and procedures
- Reviews and responds to requests for financial process inquiries submitted via phone, email, or service desk
- Upholds business process best practices with consistent monitoring, reviewing, and training
- Researches unidentified correspondence and forwards as needed.
- Identifies recurring issues and questions, and escaltes them to the Clinical Resources Lead to implement solutions. Participates in business process improvement exercises by integrating customer recommendations.
- Reviews client accounts to confirm appropriate and accurate accounting of expenditures.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required - Associate’s degree is preferred
Experience:
Three (3) years of progressive experience purchasing equipment and/or with inventory management. Experience working in a clinical environment preferred.
